No, Toph, you were not, you lucky devil! If only all the main characters hadn't been introduced till the second season.

These are just nitpicky things really, the real issue with the Airbender movie is that it's so bad IT PUNCHES YOU IN THE SOUL.

I wonder if Shamwow has ever had a conversation with another human being before. You wouldn't know from the way the dialog reads. I wish he had. Maybe that human could have told him not to make this movie. T_T Alas, the ENTIRE film is talking, talking, talking, explaining every last thing, thus deftly avoiding the need to SHOW US ANYTHING!!

BLARGSNHLDSHVD!!!!!!*brain splodey*

*slight spoilery bit here*
Other characters fortunate enough to not be in the movie: Jet, Suki, Avatar Roku, the Ocean Spirit, Koh... well, all of the characters really, cuz, I don't know who those people were in the movie, but it wasn't them...
*end spoilery bit*

Also, was it just me, or did everybody in the movie sound like they were on the verge of sobbing every time they spoke?

Well, I'm certainly sobbing!!!

What movie? What movie are you talking about? There is no such thing as an Avatar: the last airbender movie. It doesn't exist. But why have they not made a movie yet? HTTYD2.6

Lol, yes, let us reject their reality and substitute our own. :)  It's happier here.

I watched this movie recently, and I was struck by the very last shot of the film, in which all the water folks(and fire guys for some reason) all started bowing to Ong(misspelling deliberate). This is supposed to be his crowning moment the whole movie is leading up to, where he accepts the role of the Avatar and becomes the savior the world needs. But look at his face! He doesn't look like a hero, he looks like a scared kid who got shoved in front of a big crowd and just wishes they'd go away! Just summarizes everything wrong with this version of the character with that one image. Shameful.

How about Teoh? If he were in the move, he'd probably be inspirationally disadvantaged or something.

Closest thing I ever watched was the Nostalgia Critic's review of the movie. It was about as funny as Sokka (from the cartoons) and I enjoyed how it poked fun at Shyamalan. His mockery of that stupid "earthbending" scene was frickin' hilarious! The only possible thing about it that might have had merit is that the kid they got to play Aang does, admittedly, look like him, but this is destroyed by his shitting acting.

OMG, LOL "Am I going colorblind?" It took me a while, but now I get it! :)

Really, a lot of characters probably feel the same as Toph for being spared of the film's treatment: Suki (When people draw Team Avatar, she's always forgotten), Jeong Jeong, Jet, King Bumi, June, Avatars Roku and Kyoshi, Koh, Teo and his dad... and the people from Books 2 and 3 are also lucky by default.

How could Toph even tell? Maybe she just wasn't talking throughout the film. Either way, it's better treatment than the other characters.
